DAVE SHANNON SMITH, PRINCIPAL

Dave is a Securities Commission of The Bahamas licensed financial and corporate service provider ("dssfcsp") specializing in compliance, operations consulting and other facilitation services.  Dave is the former Executive Director of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (‘SCB') and Managing Director of The Bahamas Development Bank.  With over 40+ years’ experience in financial services, dave has held senior management positions with “marquee” institutions. 

 

Dave has undertaken national service as Deputy Chairman of the National Insurance Board, Chairman of HoldingCo2015 Ltd, Director of Be Aliv Limited, Board Member and Chair of the Public Hospital Authority’s Audit and Deputy Chair of the Finance Committees, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Lecturer and Fellow of The Bahamas Institute of Financial Services (FBIS) and a Member of The Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (BACO).

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in business administration from Taylor University, Upland, Indiana.  He holds diplomas in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering from the International Compliance Association in conjunction with the Manchester Business School along with being a Bahamas Certified Compliance Professional (BCCP), Justice of the Peace (JP), Accredited Director by the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (Acc.Dir) and a Society of Human Resources Management - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)

Dave enjoys running marathons and reading in his spare time and possesses a mischievous sense of humor.
